IN COURT

Two men appeared at Brampton magistrates' court this week charged with causing an affray, breach of the peace, wilful damage to property and assaulting three police officers. William James Thorsen (41) of Brampton, and Andrew Bugger (29) of Shirebrook pleaded not guilty and were released on bail pending psychiatric reports. According to one witness, the fracas started when Bugger made a derogatory remark regarding the age and quality of the meat pies provided for the darts evening by the landlord of the Olde Cock and Pullet Inn, Mr. Horace Grimslapper, to which Thorsen allegedly replied in a less than gentlemanly manner; "F***ing shut your f***ing mouth you f***ing f***er or I'll f***ing shove the c***ing f***er up your f***ing a**e f***ing sideways, you f***ing c*** faced t***ting b*****d donkey b****ring l********er." The pies had apparently been supplied cheaply to the Olde Cock and Pullet Inn by Thorsen the previous week. A spokesperson for J. Spleen & sons family butcher, 24, Sludge Lane, Brampton, who originally manufactured the offending delicacies, said; "Thee were nowt up wi' t' chuffers."
