by Nora Frontbottom, political correspondent. (Photos by Reg Snipe) Newsagents all over Brampton were under siege last Tuesday when supplies of the latest edition of the Brampton Bugle (left) fell short of heavy local demand and violence broke out in the streets. Several casualties were reported, including world famous Bugle photographer Reg Snipe, who was taken to hospital after being rendered completely unconscious by an accordion thrown by one of the rioters. Luckily, Reg's camera was recovered by quick thinking P.C. Bernard Tiddle (32), who told our reporter: "It was an amazing stroke of luck - I just looked up and the camera hit me right in the face." It is with gratitude to P. C. Tiddle that we are able to bring you this impressive photographic study of the dramatic events.![]() Heroic P. C. Bernard Tiddle.
