Donations of string, mostly from local senior citizens, have flooded in after last week's appeal from local scout and guide co-ordinator Ms. Mavis Totway (39) who said; "We're getting in a proper tangle - we never expected to be this successful with the campaign. We have now roped in the brownies and cubs purely to untie all the unwanted knots, which tend to be prevalent in the string of the more elderly. We must have about seven miles now, it's going to be of huge benefit to the community as well as giving the children involved a sense of achievement and self worth." Ms. Totway is still however appealing for volunteers to distribute this bounty - interested parties please telephone 882674. *****
